A multi-disciplined designer recognized for her innovative use of sustainable textiles in fashion design and contract interior design, Anita Kealey’s passion for the cultural arts is apparent in her collections. Her attention to detail and precision in her tailoring is mixed with a unique use of leather making an indigenous statement with her Dakota heritage.

Her SS2016 collection and textiles “Windows of the World” influenced by a large painting that hangs in her studio — her own virtual window where creativity bridges cultural diversity, embracing tolerance, and coexistence in equity worldwide. Opening the windows of acceptance and understanding from black & white into a spectrum of color.

A fashion historian and preservationist, Ms. Kealey serves as the Creative Director for the fashion and interior design studies of the Institute of Design & Technology of SD.
