FashioNXT Celebrates UpNXT All Stars. Gears up for Day 3
Night two at FashioNXT opened with “The Next Big Things in Fashion” conversation series the panel discussion focused on were fashion is going next. Topics covered tech and what’s next for apparel companies. In today’s world the importance of reducing waste from technology products is increasingly important Intel is currently working on a project that will integrate recycled tech parts into clothing.Other topics included the move from customization to personalization.
The runway show highlighted the success the UpNXT emerging designers all stars. Opening the show was 2014 winner Myriam Marcela showing F/W Holiday 16/17 the line had a lux retro vibe inspired by the women in her family with a key attention to detail that the designer is known for. The collection is available to purchase on her website, and she will be displaying her collection in the FashioNXT plaza on Saturday night.
The night also featured the winners of the wearable tech competition; Vision Track Winner: Acujacket, and Product Track: Vorografia.
The night came to an end with bridal and couture collections by Vien To and Sophie Chang. Sophie stole the show with a red cape gown with geometric cut outs.
Tonight’s runway show will feature with local favorites Wendy Ohlendorf and Stephanie D Couture, Montreal designer Katherine Tessier, the night will close with Hollywood Celebrity designer Walter Mendez showing a couture and bridal collection that is sure to be the highlight night.
