The Beauty Executive Asking Companies to “Pull Up” or “Shut Up”
Beauty executive, Sharon Chuter is calling out beauty companies to take a stand. Chuter posted to Instagram asking companies to be honest about their BLM actions. She requested beauty brands to take part in her campaign, Pull Up or Shut Up. This movement calls for brands to release the total Black employees they employ. Within three days, over 30 beauty brands “pulled up”. Other brands outside the beauty community began to pull up and release their companys’ demographics. A few notable brands who have participated include: Uber, Facebook, Sephora, and Kylie Cosmetics. Chuter has started a movement for true change and accountability.
